A Colourful Domino Match on the Autumn Lawn
Published · Updated
An oversized wooden domino chain winds across the grass beneath apple trees. Coral, mustard, green and blue dots brighten the pale blocks, whose rounded edges and visible grain make the game feel satisfyingly substantial. The line bends through the foreground before turning towards two children at the centre of the orchard lawn.
A boy in a dark green knitted jumper kneels beside the open end, carefully lowering a blue-dotted tile with both hands. Opposite him, a smiling girl in a plum corduroy dress waits beside a small upright row of unplayed pieces. Her cream tights and brown shoes echo the soft natural colours around the game, while both children's attention stays on the next move.
Golden leaves hang overhead and scatter across the short grass. At the back of the garden, a small stone pavilion has white shutters, glazed doors and a broad red tiled roof. Warm afternoon light connects the wooden tiles, leaves and garden walls, giving the playful scene a clear autumn setting. Free reuse includes personal and commercial projects.
