A grass roof folds over the hillside house
Published · Updated
A grass roof folds over the hillside house and meets the surrounding slope in a continuous green surface. Two unequal white arches open through the front, one holding broad timber-framed glazing and the other a smaller rounded door. Their deep reveals show the thickness of the sheltered walls.
Warm interior light reaches through the larger window, where simple furniture remains visible behind the glass. An irregular slate path bends across the near lawn, with copper trees and softer forested hills behind the roof. Cool dusk light on the grass balances the amber room, allowing the building’s rounded construction and its place within the sloping garden to remain clear.
