A garden unicorn meets a curious terrier
Published · Updated
The skeleton garden unicorn receives a careful greeting from a wheaten terrier. The living dog leans its nose toward the white plastic muzzle, with its paws firmly planted among the fallen leaves. Soft cream fur catches the light around its face, making a lively contrast with the decoration’s rigid molded shapes.
The unicorn is clearly a seasonal prop. Visible joints, fasteners and a supporting base give its slender legs and upright horn a manufactured character. A few orange pumpkins sit nearby, placing the encounter within an autumn garden rather than an imagined animal scene. The terrier’s relaxed posture makes the moment feel curious instead of alarmed.
Slender birch trunks rise behind the pair, with a dark fence giving the pale decoration a clear outline. Gold leaves lie across the ground in irregular patches and catch between the pumpkins. The portrait view leaves room for the garden while keeping the two noses close to the center of attention. Natural fur, smooth plastic and brittle leaves provide three different textures in a simple, quietly funny neighborhood encounter.
