Apple curtains fill a blue community room with generous folds of white cotton and bright fruit shapes. Pink, mustard, turquoise and slate apples repeat across the apple print fabric as three neighbors work together to hang it. One woman slides curtain rings toward the rod while a helper steadies its end from the floor.

A second woman lifts loose fabric away from the low platform, keeping the abundant material clear beneath them. Stripes and floral patterns in their clothes add smaller layers of color around the much larger curtain panels. Diffuse window light reveals the gathered header and soft waves spreading over the dark boards. The broad view makes each person's contribution to the installation visible.
