A bronze foundry pour lights the workshop

Published · Updated

A bronze foundry pour lights the workshop from within. Two workers stand on opposite sides of a long steel pouring frame, guiding the crucible as a narrow stream enters the waiting mould. Their heavy protective clothing and clear face shields catch the orange glow, while the surrounding brickwork remains in deep shadow.

The wide view gives the equipment room to make sense: long handles, grounded feet, plain moulds and a rough working floor all support the central action. Cool ambient light stays at the edges of the room, making the heated metal appear especially bright. The photograph holds on a brief, controlled moment when weight, timing and steady hands come together.
