Cooling arms sweep roasted coffee beans
Published · Updated
Cooling arms sweep roasted coffee beans around a central steel spindle. The beans gather into shallow ridges ahead of each arm, leaving small patches of the perforated tray visible behind. Their chestnut-brown surfaces vary in size, shape and sheen, with the characteristic center crease readable across the closest layer.
The circular tray fills most of the view. Its polished rim catches a broad window reflection, while scratches and bolts give the stirring assembly a practical working character. The far sweep has a little movement blur, but the near beans and metal fittings remain clear. A faint veil of warm vapor rises toward the side light.
Behind the tray stands the rounded copper-brown roaster body, with a rectangular discharge chute above the beans. Pale sacks and metal containers sit farther back near the window. The close viewpoint makes a usually hidden stage of coffee preparation visible: a dense bed of freshly roasted beans being spread and turned beneath a simple rotating mechanism.
