A fountain curtain opens the way to play

Published · Updated

A fountain curtain glitters down a tall wall of green glass blocks. At its foot, a father and son pause beside a row of water arches, both looking toward the clear spaces between the streams. The boy leans forward in a blue shirt, yellow shorts and dark leggings. His father bends slightly beside him, keeping the moment close and companionable.

Round nozzles are visible in the dark paving, each sending a clean arc toward the next stretch of wet stone. Bright beads break away from the streams and catch the low sun. Reflections of the pair appear beneath their shoes, interrupted by paving joints, ripples and splashes. The large tower continues upward beyond the frame.

Wide steps curve behind the water, following the pale wall of an open amphitheater. The generous architecture leaves plenty of room around the two visitors, making their small pause feel part of a much larger place. Clear blue sky, warm side light and cool glass tones give the photograph a bright, open character while keeping attention on their shared curiosity.
