Hay Bale Fort and a Game of Hide-and-Seek
Published · Updated
A hay bale fort becomes the center of a hide-and-seek game when a girl spots a boy tucked into its low entrance. Two other children share the discovery, one trying to hide his laughter behind his hand. An apple-pocket pinafore, checked shirt and patterned mustard knit give the group distinct clothing details.
Paper sunflowers and autumn bunting turn the bales into a handmade clubhouse, with a small lookout sign pointing across the field. Behind the game, round hay rolls lead toward an open barn and copper-colored trees. The photograph keeps the farm visible while catching the different glances and gestures that make the discovery feel shared.
