Ivory Civic Hall

Published · Updated

An ivory civic hall rises beneath a long curved glass roof. Tall columns carry fine dark bands and small ornamental panels, separating arched windows that look onto rain-softened buildings. Rows of walnut writing desks fill the floor, each paired with bentwood chairs and a small brass lamp. The long aisle leads toward heavy wooden doors.

Cream envelopes and closed books rest on several desktops. A dark green scarf hangs over a chair in the foreground beside a brass letter tray. Gray and pale stone tiles reflect the warm lamps, while the roof supplies diffuse daylight. With nobody present, the orderly furniture and personal traces give the grand hall a gentle sense of anticipation.
