Leaf boat play continues after the rain has passed along a quiet residential street. A child in a yellow raincoat crouches beside the curb and gently nudges a curled golden leaf into the shallow moving water. Green corduroy trousers, pale boots and striped cuffs bring small areas of texture and color to the action, with a green bucket resting on the pavement nearby.

The low view follows the wet street past iron railings, a mint door and rows of red brick houses. Sunlight glints across puddles and catches the edges of the child's hair, while the leaf floats just below one extended finger. The scene holds onto the concentration of an ordinary outdoor game and the changing light of a neighborhood drying after a shower.
