The Milky Way Above a Desert Arch
Published · Updated
The Milky Way rises above a desert arch in a broad diagonal band of pale stars and dark dust. Below it, a low sandstone span curves across the landscape, its rust and ochre layers catching just enough light to reveal the weathered surface. Scattered shrubs and heavy foreground boulders keep the view connected to the ground.
The small opening beneath the arch frames another strip of distant sky, while the larger sweep overhead dominates the photograph. Deep shadows preserve the quiet atmosphere without hiding the form of the rock. This nighttime landscape combines geological texture and celestial scale for a contemplative background or a story about open desert spaces after sunset.
