A mud kitchen tea party turns a round wooden table into an elaborate garden feast. One girl carefully pours water from a small metal teapot into an enamel cup, while the younger child presents a bowl of dark mud decorated with daisies and green leaves. Their bright rain dungarees carry traces of the work.

More flower-topped mud cakes sit beside wooden spoons, a copper jug and scattered petals. Pots hang along the fence, with crates, bowls and a low worktop completing the outdoor kitchen. Wet ground shines beneath the table as sunlight returns through the leaves. The photograph captures the serious care children can bring to a thoroughly playful and happily messy occasion.
