Rice terraces hold the last golden light
Published · Updated
Rice terraces hold the last golden light across a steep hillside. Curved earth banks divide the flooded plots into separate levels, with short grass along their edges and young green shoots rising from the nearer water. Warm orange reflections fill some basins while others retain cooler blue tones.
The terraces sweep across the slope toward a broad valley, where blue hills recede in soft layers beneath the sunset. Fine ripples remain visible in the nearest plots, and damp soil gives the narrow banks a rough uneven surface. The elevated view follows the stepped growing pattern from close foreground detail into the open landscape, balancing the calm water with the large contours of the land.
