Sundew droplets catch the light above the moss
Published · Updated
Sundew droplets glisten at the tips of fine red tentacles around slender green leaves. The nearest leaf curls slightly inward, revealing tiny surface hairs and variations in the clear beads along its edges. Golden backlight passes through the droplets and the yellow-green tissue beneath them.
A cushion of wet moss supports the small plant above a shallow dark puddle. Other leaves and thin grass stems recede into softer focus, keeping the detailed foreground connected to a living bog garden. The close viewpoint gives the minute structures a strong presence while retaining their natural irregularity, from the curved stems to the uneven spacing of each droplet.
