The Door in the Garden Wall
Published · Updated
An old wooden door stands open within an ivy-covered stone wall. Beyond its curved frame, tall trees hold glowing pumpkin lanterns at many different heights. Fine ropes disappear into the branches, and the warm faces repeat down a mossy path until they become small orange points in the mist. The doorway gives the deep forest a clear, inviting shape.
A girl stands at the threshold with one hand resting on the heavy door. Her long golden hair falls over a dark green velvet cape, with a cream dress and sturdy boots visible below. Seen from behind, she shares the view into the trees without interrupting it. Warm lantern light reaches the edges of her hair and the folds of the cloth.
On the garden side, cool moonlight catches ivy leaves and rough stone. Ferns grow beside the uneven path, and a few simple lanterns rest near the ground. Worn timber, damp moss and layered foliage make the unexpected view feel close and tangible. This photograph is free to reuse for personal and commercial projects.
