The Embroidered Crimson Garden Pavilion
Published · Updated
Crimson textile panels rise from the walls to form the great canopy of this garden pavilion. Pale gold and ivory stems spread across the fabric, joined by indigo leaves and narrow patterned borders. Fine wrinkles and long seams reveal the weight of the cloth, while tall timber poles give the richly decorated roof a clear and believable structure.
Low indigo divans follow the edges of the room, surrounding a round hammered copper table. A small tea pot and cups rest on its broad surface. Lanterns set close to the seating warm the embroidery and cast soft highlights across the metal. Through the open side, dark cypress trees stand against the blue evening sky, with grasses and low garden lights nearer the entrance. Layered rugs connect the quiet interior to the stone terrace beyond. The photograph is suited to textile design collections, atmospheric garden-room inspiration and portrait backgrounds that combine elaborate handwork with a calm sense of evening.
