An old wooden galleon rests in green-blue water deep inside a cavern. Its high stern faces diagonally toward the rocky ledge, revealing rows of carved windows, weathered rails and dark timber planking. Three masts rise beneath the cave roof, with torn unmarked sails hanging among loose rigging. Moss and pale encrustations soften the ship’s edges, making it seem long settled in this hidden place.

Five children stand together along a broad rock shelf at the side of the lagoon. They wear rain jackets and carry backpacks, flashlights, a folded map and a coil of rope. Their small figures give scale to the ship and the enormous walls around it. Pale flashlight beams skim nearby rock while the children look across the water.

High overhead, openings in the roof admit distinct shafts of daylight. The light reveals underwater stones and reflects turquoise tones onto the surrounding cave.
