The Luminous Onyx Entrance Hall
Published · Updated
A staircase of luminous stone rises through this quiet entrance hall, with warm light revealing cloudy veins inside each broad tread. Its glass balustrade leaves the entire flight visible, while a slim bronze rail follows the slope toward the upper landing. Pale stone walls and a timber ceiling surround the double height space. Beyond the enormous windows, snow settles across the hillside and dark pine branches stand against the deep blue evening sky.
The light changes gently across the room, from the golden steps and hanging pendants to the cool woodland outside. A curved wooden desk and charcoal sofa make the far corner feel welcoming, and bare branches in dark vases echo the trees beyond the glass. The polished floor catches narrow reflections beneath the staircase, while a textured dark runner leads inward from the doorway. The photograph brings together the weight of natural stone, the clarity of glass and the warmth of a sheltered winter interior.
