A handful of amber windows bring warmth to the heavy facade, while bare trees gather along the drive below. The building has a grand, isolated presence, with the cliff dropping away beside its outer wall.

Closed iron gates fill the foreground. Their slender bars, weathered metalwork and central rusted ornament frame a damp gravel approach that leads toward the entrance. Rough stone pillars and patches of moss give the boundary a worn coastal character. Mist drifts through the trees and along the cliff, partly softening the meeting of land and water.
