A funicular passes the round window
Published · Updated
A funicular passes the round window of another cabin high above a snowy mountain valley. The close yellow rim forms a broad frame around the view, with a black rubber seal separating painted metal from glass. Beyond it, another yellow cabin rests on a steel undercarriage along the adjacent track. A second compartment follows behind, making the train's shape easy to read as it passes.
The snowy railway descends between evergreen trees before disappearing farther down the slope. Dark rails, repeated supports and pale snow create long lines through the lower half of the scene. Across the valley, jagged peaks stand above lower wooded ridges, with winter sunlight tracing their steep faces.
Small reflections remain visible in both sets of windows. Rubbed paint and tiny marks on the near ring give the interior a used, practical character, while the charcoal sill and seat keep the foreground in shade. The cabin outside, the narrow rail corridor and the distant mountains offer three different scales within one circular view.
