A giraffe bends to the waterhole
Published · Updated
A giraffe bends toward a shallow waterhole with its front legs spread and long neck reaching down to the surface. Ochre patches divided by pale lines follow the body’s angular pose. The lowered head and legs appear again in the water, with small ripples breaking the reflection near the muzzle.
The complete animal stands within a broad savanna view rather than filling the frame alone. Amber grass and scattered flat-topped trees lead toward hazy hills beneath a pale sky. Warm low light reveals the coat and the muddy shore, while the still foreground water gives the ordinary act of drinking an unusually clear and balanced shape.
