A pogo stick lifts an athlete above the blue court, its yellow cylinder held between his bent knees. Both hands stay on the handlebar while his shoes rest on the side platforms. The slim lower shaft and its rubber tip remain clear beneath him, making the height of the leap visible.

His black helmet and blue protective pads sit against a slate-blue shirt and dark shorts. Tall concrete buildings rise behind the court, giving the small piece of sporting equipment a striking urban setting. Low sunlight draws a defined shadow across the painted surface. The wide, low viewpoint holds the whole action in view, with concentration in his face and a brief pause before the next landing.
