A red deer stag calls through the mist
Published · Updated
A red deer stag lifts its muzzle and calls through the morning mist. Branching antlers rise above a shaggy dark throat, while the russet coat catches a narrow edge of warm light. Its grounded stance and visible breath give the animal a clear presence within the drifting haze.
Purple heather and wet grasses fill the foreground with small cool highlights. Behind the stag, sunlight turns the thinner mist gold, while a line of dark oaks recedes along the heath. The low viewpoint leaves generous space around the animal, connecting the brief call with the wide, quiet autumn setting and its changing layers of light.
