A water clock colors the midnight atrium
Published · Updated
A water clock rises through a brick atrium in a narrow transparent cabinet. Chains of glass vessels hold violet and amber liquid at different levels, with fine connecting tubes and larger reservoirs near the base. Warm reflections spread across the dark floor beneath its slim metal frame.
For Halloween, paper bats hang in a sweeping canopy above the surrounding gallery. Their folded wings introduce a playful shape among the circles, tubes and straight structural lines. The empty nighttime setting gives the installation room to glow without losing the texture of brick, glass and terrazzo. From the low, angled view, the clock feels both intricate and monumental, turning a measurement of passing time into an atmospheric architectural scene.
