A Woven Seat above the Waterfall Ravine
Published · Updated
An empty woven seat hangs beneath a rough rock overhang, its oval opening facing the light of a deep ravine. Honey coloured cane curves around a simple ochre cushion, with each strand and binding visible in the sheltered foreground. Two ropes rise to separate anchors in the stone, while a short side line holds the basket near the alcove wall.
A small stone landing sits beside the suspended seat. Beyond its edge, the landscape drops away into layers of green cliffs and waterfall mist. A tall white cascade falls down the opposite wall, meeting a stream that continues between dark boulders far below. Small trees and ferns grow from crevices in the weathered rock.
The composition places an intimate resting place against an immense landscape. Soft light from the ravine reveals the wicker texture, while the cave roof and foreground stone remain naturally shaded. No one occupies the seat or the landing. This photograph is free to use, including in commercial projects.
