Bubble science turns a tray into a tiny world

Published · Updated

Bubble science turns a shallow dark tray into a small experiment. Two tabletop bubbles sit side by side, their iridescent film reflecting the window in bands of pink, blue and green. A daughter gently touches the smaller dome with a fingertip while her father watches, holding the paper straw used to blow the bubbles.

Both sit upright at a wooden kitchen table, with their faces and hands clearly visible above the tray. A glass of bubble mixture and a damp folded cloth remain to one side. Daylight from the large window brightens the girl's yellow blouse and the father's blue check shirt. The close view concentrates on curiosity, transparent surfaces and the brief moment before a bubble changes.
