Colored bottles catch the light in the garden
Published · Updated
Colored bottles catch the light in the garden on curved metal stems. Short upward branches hold the bottles by their open necks, leaving rounded bases raised toward the sun. Cobalt, emerald, amber and ruby glass creates an irregular fan of translucent color.
The bottle shapes vary between long narrow forms and shorter rounded vessels. Small colored highlights fall onto nearby leaves and gravel, linking the sculpture to its planted surroundings. Bronze grasses and red autumn foliage rise behind the stems, while a few nearer bottles frame the wider arrangement. The diagonal upward view keeps the supporting metalwork legible and brings the changing reflections through the glass into focus.
