Colored Nets at the Working Harbor
Published · Updated
Colored nets fill the foreground of a working harbor as a fisherman lifts their turquoise rope edge. Orange fishing floats and dark rubber discs hang along the pale yellow mesh, giving the material visible weight. His yellow waterproof overalls and cobalt cap repeat the strong colors around the boat. Both hands grip separate sections of rope as he draws the net across the deck.
The turquoise hull leads the eye toward small fishing boats moored beside the quay. Sunlight catches wet rope fibers, rubber boots and scattered droplets on the painted floor. Ordinary waterfront workshops sit beyond the water, keeping the activity connected to its harbor setting. The broad arc of net links foreground texture with the fisherman’s concentrated expression and braced working posture.
