Copper facade tiles ripple above the courtyard

Published · Updated

A copper facade rises above a wet courtyard, its many square plates catching the last warm light through grey clouds. Each plate has a slightly different surface, from bright amber to deep brown. Their small changes of angle turn the repeated grid into broad, shifting bands of reflection across the tall wall.

Dark gaps reveal the supporting framework behind the hinged tiles. Small brackets and regular rows give the screen a clear construction, while mottled oxidation softens its otherwise precise geometry. The wall curves gently away toward a lower stone building. At its base, a continuous dark plinth meets the broad paving without interrupting the rhythm overhead.

A slender autumn tree stands on the opposite side of the courtyard with yellow leaves spreading against the sky. Rainwater gathers in shallow pools across the stone. One large puddle repeats the copper grid and the tree in a broken reflection. A few fallen leaves lie near its edges. The vertical viewpoint emphasizes the height of the screen while keeping the building connected to a quiet, walkable outdoor space.
