A courtyard domino game stretches into the soft light of evening. Four neighbours sit around a small green table as one player adds a tile to the line. Patterned blouses, striped knitwear and a rust dress bring individual colour to the group, while plain enamel mugs rest between the racks.

The courtyard remains part of the conversation: pink walls, a turquoise pipe, hanging laundry and red geraniums surround the table. Warm light falls from a wall lamp as the sky beyond turns blue. The broad diagonal view keeps the hands and smiling faces close to the game, while leaving enough space to see the familiar place that has brought everyone together.
