Angular glass planes in dark steel frames carry blue ripple patterns through a tall brick hall and onto its concrete floor.

Folded Glass Prisms Hold Blue Light

Published · Updated

A jagged arrangement of transparent glass rises through an old brick hall. Low triangular planes spread across the foreground and lead toward a tall narrow crest, each held inside a dark steel frame. Fine blue lines cross the surfaces like ripples, breaking into different directions as they meet the angled sheets. The same patterns fall over the worn concrete, linking the sculpture to the space around it.

Heavy base plates and small bolts keep the glass firmly grounded. Through the transparent layers, tall arched windows reveal the last pale band of evening sky above dark trees. Warm lamps sit between the windows and bring out the rough brickwork, while the upper roof trusses remain in deep shadow. A distant wooden bench gives the installation its scale. The blue pattern stays brightest near the glass and fades across the floor, leaving plenty of darkness around the angular forms. Reflections, clear edges and overlapping planes make the light feel caught within a real structure rather than floating freely in the room.
