A prism curtain of suspended faceted glass casts rainbow reflections across the white walls and gray floor of an empty gallery.

Prism curtain scatters color through the gallery

Published · Updated

A prism curtain hangs before the gallery windows, turning a low sun into rainbow reflections across the room. The faceted glass pieces descend at different heights on thin vertical wires. Some appear almost clear, while others hold faint amber, blue or violet tones along their polished edges and flat centers.

Small metal loops connect each piece to its suspension wire, and narrow rails run overhead. The changing distances between the drops give the installation an airy rhythm. Long window shadows stretch across the gray concrete floor, crossing softer patches of color. Slight surface variations in the floor make those reflections feel part of an ordinary physical room.

A dark bench rests against the far white wall beneath a scattered field of spectral light. An open doorway leads into another quiet gallery, extending the view beyond the suspended glass. Outside, trees and a distant roofline catch the same late sunlight. The photograph follows light through several materials at once: transparent glass, a reflective floor and pale plaster that receives each small moving patch of color.
