A great dome of pale yellow chrysanthemums fills the centre of this garden view. Hundreds of blooms gather above a sturdy branching trunk, creating a rounded canopy that almost seems to hold up the soaring glass roof. The broad terracotta planter below is stained with age and softened by trailing ferns. Around it, palms and citrus trees add smaller layers of green, while the curved stone path keeps the immense flowering shape open to view.

Tall iron ribs and arched windows repeat the curve of the flowers overhead. Beyond the glazing, copper leaves bring the season into the room, and a low shaft of sunlight catches the upper petals. The damp floor carries quieter reflections of the structure and plants. Cream, gold and green dominate without hiding the little differences between individual blooms. This image suits autumn garden inspiration, floral design collections and calm backgrounds where a substantial central subject is welcome. The generous height also gives the photograph a strong sense of shelter and space.
