The Golden Room of Glass Forests
Published · Updated
Tall glass domes hold a quiet collection of woodland branches, each rising from a small mound of moss. Their rounded crowns stand at different heights, creating a winding procession through the room. The nearest dome brings pale bark, fine twigs and a few lingering autumn leaves close enough to see against the darker space beyond.
Brass plinths join the displays into a low, flowing landscape. Small perforations scatter warm points of light across their surfaces and make soft reflections on the curved ceiling. The glass remains clear enough to reveal the branches, with delicate highlights outlining its thick edges and rounded tops.
A dense fern wall fills the far end of the room, contrasting with the bare specimens inside their transparent shelters. High windows admit the last blue light of evening, and a simple dark bench stands beside the open route between the domes. Brown stone flooring catches subdued gold reflections without competing with the display. The scene combines the fragile detail of a small winter branch with the scale of an entire room devoted to its shape.
