Bare branches drift beneath the bog reflection
Published · Updated
Bare branches drift beneath the bog reflection in a fine pattern of pale lines. Some rest near the marsh edge while others lie partly submerged across the transparent shallows. Small twigs extend from the larger limbs, remaining visible between patches of reflected cloud.
Tawny autumn grasses form an irregular scalloped boundary around the dark teal water. Their changing density creates softer and sharper edges where the pool meets the land. Seen directly from above, the scene brings together the branching wood, curved shoreline and broken sky reflections without a distant horizon, turning a quiet wetland into a detailed arrangement of water, vegetation and submerged structure.
