Mirror drawing follows a friends colorful line
Published · Updated
Mirror drawing brings two friends together over a large dark sheet of paper. Each holds one of the colored pastels, with yellow lines on the left and pink curves on the right. The broad strokes bend toward a central fold but follow slightly different paths. Their exchanged smiles turn the mismatch into part of the activity.
A small open box holds more short pastel sticks near the table edge. Loose grains and broken pieces sit beside the marks, giving the drawing a soft, tactile surface. The younger woman’s checked blouse contrasts with her friend’s floral knitted cardigan. Their free hands rest on separate parts of the paper while the drawing hands remain close to the newest curves.
Tall arched windows and green frames fill the art room behind them. Paper circles hang at different heights on thin strings, repeating the rounded movement below. Empty stools, easels and a warm wooden floor leave plenty of space around the table. The wide setting keeps the shared exercise informal and welcoming, with the friends’ attention moving naturally between their drawing and one another.
