A paella gathering brings three friends around a broad wooden table beside the harbor. A shared paella pan holds yellow rice, shrimp, open clams and radial pepper strips in red, yellow and green. One friend lifts a modest serving with a broad spoon while the other two wait with plain plates, their attention moving between the food and each other.

The higher diagonal view keeps the pan and all three faces part of the same harbor supper. A blue scalloped collar, orange linen skirt and green gingham dress add their own colors beside the cook's indigo apron. Soft coastal daylight brings out the grains of rice, the shells and the worn tabletop. Boats beyond the group provide context without distracting from the relaxed, sociable meal.
