Paper fan decorations fill a courtyard
Published · Updated
Paper fan decorations transform a brick courtyard into a generous setting for a community supper. Large folded fans gather across the roof beams and walls in lime, blue, yellow and coral. Their rounded edges and deep accordion ridges make the scalloped tissue fans feel light but substantial, with thin threads showing how the installation is held in place.
Below the colorful party ceiling, two courtyard supper tables provide a clear route through the space. Linen runners, plain plates, mismatched chairs and small flower vases keep the setting welcoming. Afternoon light passes through some of the paper edges and the covered roof, revealing the contrast between delicate tissue, rough brick and glazed floor tiles. The wide view lets the full scale of the handmade decoration remain visible.
