A paint fight turns a garden canvas into a field of green and pink marks. A daughter finishes a throwing gesture with one hand while holding a bright paint sponge in the other. Her father turns toward her laughing, with a broad paintbrush held low beside his protective apron. Their clear faces remain free of paint.

The paint splashes spread across the white hanging cloth and both protective aprons, linking the people to the activity. Shallow paint trays sit on a rough wooden bench beneath the canvas. Pear branches shade the grass around their shoes, and soft afternoon sun lights the fabric, leaves and scattered color. The standing composition keeps their gestures and the complete art corner visible.
