A paper hat gathering turns the canal steps into a place for shared laughter and simple making. Three adult friends wear oversized folded boat hats in coral, cobalt and pale yellow. One holds another partly folded sheet on his knees while the others steady their own hats, comparing the results with clear, amused expressions.

The colorful paper craft is set against rough stone and the quieter colors of the water beyond. A fuchsia ruffled collar, a broad checked overshirt and a mint striped cardigan give each person a distinct outfit. The higher diagonal view includes their shoes, the hats' folded bands and the paper left on the steps. Crisp sunlight reveals the creases and the hollow crowns, keeping the exaggerated shapes recognizably handmade.
