Paper map dress takes its final fold
Published · Updated
A paper map dress gathers printed waterways and city blocks into a small, carefully folded garment shape. Its folded collar and short sleeves sit above a narrow waist, while the skirt opens into deep pleats. One adult hand holds the paper steady as the other presses a crease with a bone folder.
Navy felt makes the pale paper edges easy to see. Triangular offcuts, a shallow bowl and open scissors extend the activity beyond the finished shape, showing the material still being worked. Blue river lines continue over the folds, interrupted by their shadows. The overhead view keeps attention on the transformation of a flat map into dimensional paper art.
