Pigeons circle the adobe towers
Published · Updated
Adobe towers rise above an arid plain, their tapering ochre walls pierced by clusters of small round nesting holes. Rough wooden beams project from the hand-worked surface as simple perches. Pigeons rest beside the openings while others circle overhead, adding movement to the strong upward lines of the architecture.
The low view sets the golden walls against a deep blue sky, with individual wings catching the same side light as the towers. Dry grass and a plain doorway anchor the base, while a narrow green strip and distant hills reveal the surrounding landscape. The building’s practical purpose remains visible in its unusual shape and busy occupants.
