A quiet ice rink holds a broad glossy ice trail among the curved scuffs left across the matte surface. A parked resurfacing vehicle sits near the boards, its pale body, dark wheels and low metal attachment standing against the open ice. The empty driver seat adds to the sense of a pause between activities.

Cool light falls through the high roof structure and softens into reflections along the wet stripe. Plain boards, protective glass and low gray bleachers enclose the rink without crowding the view. The high corner angle allows the change in surface texture to stretch through most of the image. Mint, silver and white tones keep attention on the space, machine and traces of recent use.
