Rain shines beneath the golden avenue
Published · Updated
The golden avenue stretches beside quiet water beneath a canopy of orange leaves. Tall plane trees stand at intervals along the bank, their mottled bark showing patches of cream, gray and brown. A row of dark lamps follows the wet path into the distance. The long view makes the nearest trunks feel substantial against the smaller shapes farther away.
Rain has left a broad puddle at the edge of the paving. Reflected branches and warm foliage break around scattered fallen leaves, while a smoother strip of asphalt remains open to the right. Small changes in the surface catch the light differently, revealing grit, moisture and shallow ripples. The low viewpoint keeps these close textures part of the larger landscape.
Across the water, a distant cluster of buildings rises above another band of trees. Cool cloud cover opens near the horizon, allowing a final warm light to reach the leaves and trunks. The park appears empty and still. Its rich autumn color is balanced by the dark path, pale sky and calm water visible between the trees.
