Red Roof Poles Around a Yurt Skylight

Published · Updated

A round opening in the roof brings the evening sky into this richly layered tent interior. Slender red timber poles radiate from its rim, creating a strong pattern that continues down toward the curved lattice walls. Dark woven cloth fills the spaces between the poles, while short tassels hang from the wooden ring. The exposed joints, rubbed wood and dense wool textures make the structure feel carefully assembled and warmly used. Blue twilight above provides a cool centre to the surrounding red and amber tones.

Below the roof, a low round table stands among broad floor cushions and overlapping rugs. Their small geometric patterns echo the rhythm of the wall lattice without competing with the roof’s simple circular form. Lanterns beside the wall cast warm light through the timber framework and across the felt lining. At the left, an open doorway reveals dry meadow grass and distant mountain ridges beneath a pale sunset. The view connects a sheltered gathering place with the wide landscape outside, keeping the entire interior’s distinctive construction visible.
