Saffron flowers open across the autumn field
Published · Updated
Saffron flowers open across the autumn field, with one nearest bloom revealing its fine details. Soft purple petals carry darker veins around long scarlet threads and shorter yellow anthers. Narrow green leaves emerge beside the flower, with a few small beads of moisture catching the light.
More purple blooms scatter across the rough brown soil behind it, becoming smaller and softer toward the field boundary. Pebbles and irregular gaps between the plants keep the surface varied. The very low viewpoint follows the flowers at their own height, joining the delicate structures of the nearest bloom to a much broader spread of color in the autumn growing ground.
