A skeleton tandem pauses on a Halloween lawn with two unlikely riders ready for an evening outing. The front skeleton wears a black bowler and a long orange scarf, while its companion has a broad mustard bow beneath its chin. Their ivory hands rest on separate handlebars above the long teal bicycle frame.

A pumpkin cart follows behind on a short hitch. Its weathered wooden slats surround a glowing jack-o-lantern and a loose bundle of dry stalks. The small cart wheels and large bicycle wheels sit among grass and fallen maple leaves. A central metal stand holds the tandem upright, keeping the display visibly connected to the ground.

Behind the riders, a stone path curves toward the deep porch of a blue-gray clapboard house. Warm windows, small lanterns and pots of orange flowers repeat the light inside the pumpkin. Copper leaves frame the darker blue sky overhead. The full yard gives the comic little procession room to exist as an ambitious seasonal decoration, with the ordinary house providing a familiar backdrop.
