Alpine coaster among folded birds
Published · Updated
An alpine coaster passes beneath enormous folded birds in a sunlit forest. The rider looks upward with a delighted smile as an ivory crane spreads its angular wings above the track. Two smaller sculptures in orange and teal continue the route behind him. Their sharp folded planes contrast with the soft ferns and fine branches surrounding the ride.
The yellow cart sits closely around the continuous silver rail. Its wheels, support hardware and paired controls remain visible, while a dark belt crosses the rider's plain green knitted sweater. The forest track curves gently into the distance on repeated metal supports. A narrow walkway follows one side, giving the installation a clear connection to the ground.
Thick upright posts and tension cables carry the folded sculptures above the route. The nearest bird fills much of the upper frame, making the familiar paper-fold shape feel monumental. Warm light passes through the trees and brushes the rider's face, the cart and the pale panels together. The low viewpoint brings the rail close to the camera while leaving room for the extraordinary canopy overhead. A distant patch of water appears between the trunks.
