Snow rollers scatter across the upland

Published · Updated

Snow rollers scatter across an open upland, with rough hollow cylinders standing above a thin white surface. One large roll sits close to the camera, its layered edge framing smaller forms farther down the slope. Shallow tracks and scattered grass stems interrupt the otherwise smooth ground around them.

Pale blue shadows follow the uneven snow as low peach light reaches across the field. The distant spruce line remains dark beneath a broad cold sky, giving the strange shapes a quiet setting and a clear sense of scale. Fine grains and fragile curls keep the scene tactile, allowing the repeated forms to remain visibly irregular and natural.
