A sofa hoist turns a moving-day task into a striking vertical scene against a plain brick facade. Two broad webbing slings support a teal velvet sofa, meeting above it at a central hook connected to the pulley line. The compact seat remains level as it rises a short distance above the cobblestones.

A mover standing to one side guides a rope while a second watches from inside the open upstairs window. The wide view connects their positions with the projecting timber beam, suspended furniture and taut ropes. Cool daylight brings out the velvet nap, pale sling fibers and individual brick courses. Dark damp paving below gives the raised sofa's rich color a strong contrast.
